Ronald D. Miller, MD

Dr. Ron Miller, MD, is at our Mattoon location.  Dr. Miller grew up in Peoria, spent a high school year as an American Field Service foreign exchange student in Germany, then graduated as a Bronze Tablet Scholar from the University of Illinois.  Dr. Miller graduated from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in 1976, with his final year of medical school in Sydney, Australia as a Richardson Scholar.  His internship and ophthalmology residency were at the University of Texas.

Dr. Miller returned to Illinois in 1980 for a  full time comprehensive ophthalmology practice, becoming the founder and medical director of the Mattoon Eye Center, which merged into Quantum Vision Centers in 2014.  He has performed over 14,000 eye surgeries and continues in active practice both medically and surgically.

Dr. Miller has had 8 terms as Coles County Medical Society president, has had 12 articles published, and is the recipient of the AMA lifetime education achievement award.  In recent years, he has participated in 12 surgical mission trips to Honduras, Central America.  He is board certified and  is a  member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the Illinois Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons, and the American Medical Association.

Dr. Miller has been married over 40 years and has three grown children and seven grand children.  He and his wife enjoy their hay farming and cattle-raising activities.  He can be reached at the Quantum location in Mattoon,  217-234-3937.
