Dr. Binder joined Quantum Vision Center, formerly Illinois Eye Surgeons, in August 2014 after completing his fellowship at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles/University of Southern California. He had the privilege of learning state of the art medicine from some of the world’s leading experts in the field of pediatric ophthalmology, and gained invaluable experience at one of the busiest and highest ranked children’s hospitals in the country.

Dr. Binder brings to Quantum Vision expertise in complicated and routine strabismus (misalignment of the eyes) as well as pediatric cataract, glaucoma, retinopathy of prematurity (ROP), and plastics. He will practice as an adult comprehensive ophthalmologist in addition to pediatrics and takes special interest in adult strabismus.

Dr. Binder received his bachelors of science in cell and developmental biology from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2004 and received his medical degree from the University of California, Irvine in 2009. He completed his internship in internal medicine at the University of Kansas Medical Center and then continued to the University of Missouri, Kansas City for his ophthalmology residency where he served as chief resident before finishing in 2013.

His memberships include the American Association of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus and the American Academy of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Binder and his wife enjoy all types of outdoor sports including hiking, camping, swimming, running, and biking. They also love world travel and some of their favorite trips have been to India, Nepal, South Africa, and Tanzania. When he isn’t traveling he enjoys trying his hand at gourmet cooking and playing the guitar.
