
JOHN T. LIND M.D.
Dr. John Lind is a board certified Ophthalmologist that began his glaucoma practice with the Illinois Eye Surgeons in April of 2010. Dr. Lind received his undergraduate education at Indiana University with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Biology and Business Foundations in 1999. He completed his Masters of Biology Degree from Purdue University in 2000 and graduated from the Indiana University School of Medicine in 2004.
After his Transitional Internship at St. Vincent Hospital (Indianapolis), he completed his 3 year Ophthalmology residency at Saint Louis University. While a resident, Dr. Lind was named a SLUCARE Ambassador which is a university wide award given for excellence in patient care, a two year winner of the Roya Rabbani, MD Award for excellence in patient care, served as Chief Resident in 2007-2008, and was awarded the F. Harrison Jerrold award for the Most Outstanding Resident in 2008.
After completing his residency, Dr. Lind completed a one year Glaucoma fellowship at the world famous Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami. Upon completion of his fellowship, Dr. Lind returned to the Saint Louis University Eye Institute to begin his practice in August of 2009.
Dr. Lind is an Active Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, member of the American Glaucoma Society and the Missouri Society of Eye Physicians. Dr. Lind specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of Adult and Pediatric Glaucoma.Dr. Lind has published articles in both Cornea and Glaucoma.
He is a reviewer for the Journal of Glaucoma and Journal of Clinical and Experimental Ophthalmology as well as being an investigator in the Primary Tube versus Trabeculectomy Trial (PTVT). He is a member of the Saint Louis University Eye Institute Education Committee.
Dr. Lind was awarded the Department of Ophthalmology Excellence in Teaching Award in 2011.
Dr. Lind enjoys spending time with his wife, Claudia, and their dog, Lola, a miniature Schnauzer. He also enjoys golfing, tennis, Indiana University basketball and cooking.
